Hydropower is now being generated at Osney, Sandford, and Reading. These projects were community funded.
Please see www.upperthameshydro.com for more details of the hydropower potential of the weirs at Shifford, Rushey, Radcot and Buscot and sets out recommendations for next steps. The website has a link to a report that I commissioned from www.renewablesfirst.co.uk to explore this opportunity. I favour the community funding model. What's needed above all is a project leader.
