The subject land is located in the village of Shilton. It is situated between two built residential developments and would be logical infill land for a residential led development scheme.
Existing Use:
This land currently is currently used for agricultural purposes and is bare land.
Proposed Use:
We are of the opinion that a residential led development scheme would be suitable for the site. The total area is 3.32 acres, which could deliver in the region of 25 houses. It is located between two areas of residential development and is a logical place for infill. Access could be taken directly from the public highway to the south. We are aware of a demand from the local community for affordable houses within the village, due to the local area being particularly affluent and therefore too expensive for many first time buyers. The proposal could be developed with the local community to ensure that a sufficient number of affordable dwellings are delivered alongside market housing, therefore ensuring that first time buyers are able to remain in the area.
