Land East of Barns Lane-Agricultural, Biodiversity, Nature retained-Burford
From "Call for Ideas, Opportunities and Sites"
Go to the project
Burford requests that Land East of Barns Lane, known locally as Cole’s Field, must be retained as agricultural land and protected. It lies within the Cotswolds Natural Landscape and has considerable historic and geographic significance. It must be protected and ring-fenced as land that cannot be developed. Cole’s Field is again the subject of a planning appeal, despite having had several planning applications refused. The local plan must protect this site, and others like it, from continued speculative planning applications. There should be a policy which states that if an area within the Cotswolds National Landscape has been the subject of a failed planning application on more than three occasions, any further applications should not be allowed.
