No to piecemeal housing development on the field opposite Evans Way OX7 5SP

This field is the subject of a planning application for 100 new executive homes. It is fundamentally unsuitable for this purpose for a variety of reasons:

1. It is bisected by an ancient footpath that runs from the Rollright Stones to the Hawk Stone.
2. It is prone to flooding and the water run-off feeds directly into the Glyme.
3. It is on the wrong side of the A361, meaning that residents would have to risk crossing a busy road to use the amenities of the town, or use their cars. Chipping Norton can not accommodate and more traffic
4. There are poor public transport links, meaning residents will be compelled to use their cars to get to work, school etc.
5. It would set a dangerous precedent to build on the rural side of the Burford, creating an urban sprawl

The field would be much better suited to nature recovery and biodiversity gain. If planted with trees, it could be used by the town's residents with a nature trail and possibly a forest school. As it is beside the football and rugby pitches, it could also be used for sports
