White lining at the edge and/or centre of Buckland Road

The Buckland Road between Bampton and the bridge at the Thames includes a long straight section which is difficult to use in the dark because it does not have white lines at the edges or in the centre. While this is supposed to be looked after by the County, it would be helpful if the District could request the addition of white lines to improve safety on what is now a very busy road. (NB. When I talked with the County team about this in around 2003 they said that white lines were only allowed on B roads that were used by buses. If this was correct at the time, it would be worth revisiting on the basis of the increased level of traffic.)
