Yet again a lot of waffle, some good ideas and hypocrisy all around.
Building on 'Green belt' is never green, as the land already is. Allowing developers to promise to build low cost eco friendly houses, and then let them change all of it is a 'sell out'. Salt Cross is a prime example!
When Thames Water pollute our waterways and rivers daily as they are unable to cope with all the waste water. Then letting more development take place only increases the pollution.
Renewable energies are the way ahead, but not at the expense of green land. The real green credentials of any power source and vehicle should be looked at from cradle to grave, not just the clean bit in the middle.
Why do Oxfordshire Councils think they should be 'Global Leaders' in this field, they have neither the resources nor the expertise to do this. We should be trying to be greener and less polluting, but this has to be looked at with regard to our abilities and finances within a realistic timeframe.
Please think before making promises and plans, do not become simplistic buffoons like a certain mayor. Hold developers on a tight leash, and keep Oxfordshire the open rural county it is.
