About 4 years ago, I started turning an area of lawn into a meadow. I followed the cutting advice, planted yellow rattle seeds and wildflower seeds. Some plants turned up from seeds that had lain dormant or blown in. It is part of the pleasure - not knowing what might appear.

Like the approach, and as you say, how you never know what might turn up - from seeds blown in by the wind or dormant in the soil!
