Parking Survey January 2024

West Oxfordshire District Council’s Car parking strategy was approved in 2016 and covers the period up to and including 2031.

Parking behaviours have changed over recent years, due to many factors including the Coronavirus pandemic, when people have travelled less, and customers being more environmentally conscious.

A mid-strategy review was conducted in 2023 to ensure that the strategy continues to meet the needs of our customers. The review also sought to establish if current stay times are making the best use of Council assets, and that our enforcement activity is working to manage parking issues.

The mid-strategy review in 2023, highlighted through initial study, showed that despite the changes noted above, capacity levels at Guildenford car park in Burford and Hensington Road in Woodstock required further study during 2024. This study will fully evaluate capacity levels, ensure the Council is making best use of its assets and is meeting the needs of you, our customers. We also need to make sure that the strategy supports our towns, now and in the future.

We really value your feedback. If you could spare time to take part in our short car park survey, we can capture what is important to you, and ensure our services are meeting your needs.
